Good morning, church family! I am very excited to announce that we will be returning home beginning THIS SUNDAY (May 17th) with a soft reopening of only a morning service lasting less than an hour.
The last 8 weeks have been some very different and difficult days as we have gone through this COVID-19 crisis. During this time people have been praying for those who are ill with this virus, medical professionals and local authorities. I have made it a priority to cooperate at every level with our government (Romans 13) and have carefully followed the recommendations of the CDC.
During these two months I have spent some time praying and fasting, and consulting with medical, legal and local political leaders (Mayor Staci Albritton Mitchell, Police Juror Jack Clampit and President Shane Smiley and our Sheriffs Department). I have registered our church with the Fire Marshall. I have been a part of many webinars and conference calls with seasoned pastors, Christian legal experts (Christian Law Association) and counsel with pastors in our community to learn the best protocols and policies to take ahead.
I believe, without a doubt, God has given me complete peace of mind and heart for the following steps to take place for our Return Home process.
We are going to have a soft reopening this Sunday with our normal Sunday Morning service at 11:00 am and the intent to evaluate and consider the next steps on a week-by-week basis.
I do wish to STRESS, we will ALL need to participate in strict social distancing, which means: we will not have a time to hug/shake hands, will not have a bulletin, will not be using hymnals, will not be having fellowship times indoors.
For those who are high risk, with underlying health conditions, or are sick PLEASE STAY HOME. Again, we will have our recorded services available later that afternoon.
For those who are staying home, the service will be recorded then uploaded to our YouTube channel aiming for 2:00 pm (please be patient through this).
Below is an image of our current procedures and I ask that you would strongly participate and help make this process easier.
Lastly, though these days will not be like it was before COVID-19, come with a spirit that is pleasing to the Lord (Romans 12:15-18, “Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”) and rejoice with me for each additional step we take forward.
